  • Troy & Naomi Johnstone (GoodSeed):

Now entering our fifth year of ministry with GoodSeed, we are thrilled to hear many stories of our materials making an impact around the world, especially in hard-to-reach closed countries. We feel incredibly blessed to have a small part in assisting our persecuted brothers and sisters. Troy keeps very busy with his roles as videographer, photographer, helping with secure communications and overseeing our internet ministries where people can read our books or watch videos for free online. Naomi assists the ministry in the area of hospitality and social coordination and keeps busy at home with our kids, Ellie (6), Adelaine (almost 5) and Ethan (3). Keep up to date with us at www.troyandnaomi.com. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.http://www.TroyAndNaomi.com

  • John Krajec (GoodSeed):
Dear all at FBC Olds, Thank you! I do appreciate your prayers, support and friendship over the years. I continue to work at GoodSeed USA, and am going on year 15, which is hard to believe at times. My days are full of many things and projects -- the largest right now is a re-authoring of The Stranger DVD series, this time adding Spanish audio and subtitles. I am very thankful to be able to work full-time here at GoodSeed. Thousands of books / downloads are going out each month, each with a clear Gospel presentation with it. Thank you for your part in making that happen!

  • Roman Panachenko & Vladimir Kalinin (Baptist Union of Russia):
It’s so true that last year was a hard one for us. We are very glad that you as a church have always helped us. And we all are very glad that you, because of God’s love and your love to us, decided to make such a wonderful present for our families – a real vacation.  After the family camp, we had a conference about our club “Future”. We’ve got new energy and new ideas of how to do it.  On Saturday, we’re going to open the club.  We made an ad in a local newspaper about our church and what we do.  We carefully chose all words for that ad, but, please, pray for the local government not to be against us and for the new people in the church.  The house, that we live in, has a small garden.  We planted some vegetables, herb and flowers.  Anna loves to take care of a garden.  Thank you very and very much for your packages of clothing. They are really, really a great help for us. Kids grow way too fast and their clothes become small. We buy clothes very rarely now, we are happily using the ones you sent us.  If you feel led to contribute to this missions project, please mark your offering envelopes “Russia Missions Project”.
Vladimir and Anna Kalininy & Roman and Tatyana Panasenko.

  • Peter & Areni Ritchie (SIM in ANGOLA)
Peter & Areni (Wojamo, Ciara and Rochelle) continue to oversee the care of Peter's mom who has been living in Sunrise Place since May 18, 2011. They are continuing their work with the Ovamwila TEE (Theological Education by Extension) materials, preparing them for the first of several revisions needed prior to eventual printing and distribution.  Praise: Areni received her Canadian Citizenship on August 18, 2011!  Prayer: Please pray for Peter regarding his application for an Ordinary Visa in order to make a one-month trip to Angola in the next several months; and for the ongoing process for Peter's Angolan Residence Visa, which seems to be bogged down in Angola.

  • Shalom Counselling Centre:
  • Shalom Counselling Centre is a Christian non-denominational service to the residents of Central Alberta operating out of Red Deer.  They offer counselling for individuals, couples and families on a wide range of concerns including: communication, marriage concerns, conflict management, stress, fears, anxiety, anger, depression, grief, addictions, separation, divorce, family violence and abuse, self harm, and suicide prevention.  Shalom seeks to be a place where individuals and families can find true peace with God.  Too often day to day troubles rob us of the shalom our hearts desire.  Fees are subsidized by the generous gifts of donors, so counselling is affordable.  No one is turned away because of lack of ability to pay.  All counsellors are trained to the masters level and each has a personal commitment to Christ.  Besides counselling, Shalom offers, to churches and communities, educational resources and teaching to equip the body of Christ in the caring ministries.  Further questions contact Shalom www.shalomcounselling.com or 403-342-0339 or Howard Schafer 403-556-2536.

  • Troy & Kirstin Taylor (IVCF Southern Alberta):
In September we got the student leadership team together, and asked them to pray around visions and goals for the year.  What they came up with was a truly Canadian chapter -- a Double Double.  ¨We feel that God is asking us to pray into, and aim at, doubling the size of our chapter next year.  This has dramatic impact on our evangelism, small group leaders, and prayer.  Please pray with us as we work towards something that has me very excited and intimidated all at once! I am moving to 3/4 time in September.  I am also transitioning into a formal Team Leader position, which will allow me to continue to be in front line ministry on campus, but will also encompass providing direct supervision to Robin and any other staff that may join the team in Lethbridge.  Please pray for these two transitions specifically, that we engage them with wisdom and grace.  And finally, we want to say thanks for your continued support, both in prayer and in finances.  This move to part time allows me to continue as a fully funded staff worker.  This is a huge blessing from you, and from God.  It means that so much more of my time is set free for ministry instead of support raising!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    • Gary & Beth Wiens (GoodSeed):
What a privilege to be a part of God’s purposes. This past year we had the opportunity to travel to the Congo. The cry from the Protestant church (25 million members) was for training. Could our materials help? Our team visited with a number of key leaders, put on three seminars, with our existing French materials, in different demographics, surveyed and evaluated. At the end of the day there was a consensus by all parties that the materials would be a valuable tool and even more so if they could be translated into the mother languages. The Bible Society agreed to translate, print, store and distribute the materials. The pieces are in place the game is afoot. More details at gbwnews.ca
